Volume Three

One of the world’s biggest clubs has finally entered the transfer market, while a former Devil and Lion has linked up with Crystal Palace and a Leeds favourite has made the transfer to Manchester City.

Manchester United: First signing of the summer

Manchester United has made their first move of the Transfer Window, signing Dutch defender Tyrell Malacia who joins the club until June 2026.

Malacia, who has made 136 career appearances for Feyenoord in Rotterdam has five international caps to his name.

The signing comes just days before the club is set to leave on their international preseason tour.

Their first game sees the Red Devils in Bangkok on July 12, then on to Australia for two games starting with Melbourne July 19 and Perth July 23 for the ICON Festival.

Leeds United: New 18yo midfielder

Midfielder Kalvin Phillips has left the team for Manchester City, making room for Manchester City youngster, 18-year-old midfielder Darko Gyabi who put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at Elland Road.

A highly rated young playmaker, Gyabi joins the whites having helped City’s Under 18’s win the Premier League North title in 2020/21 and playing 10 games of Under-23s football helping City become Champions of the Premier League 2, Division 1.

Crystal Palace: Double Deal

Two new faces have landed at Crystal Palace with the club securing a former Manchester United goalkeeper and an up-and-coming striker.

Sam Johnstone, who spent six seasons at Manchester United but never made an appearance, joins on a Free Transfer. Johnstone has been capped three times by England and spent the past four seasons at West Bromwich Albion after a two-year spell at Aston Villa.

18-year-old striker Malcolm Ebiowei joins Palace from Championship side Derby County. Ebiowei was capped 16 times and scored a goal under the management of Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.

It’s a great get for Palace, with Ebiowei having grown up in South London not far from Selhurst Park.

Aston Villa: Movement Aplenty

Aston Villa have been busy on the player signing and transfer front.

Veteran defender Ashley Young has signed a one-year contract extension for the claret and blue, meaning he’ll add to the 25 appearances made so far.

The Lions have looked to the future, snaring the signing of 16-year-old Scott Rory Wilson from Rangers.

The highly rated youth international netted 49 goals for club and country last campaign and will spend his time developing in Villa’s Academy.

Egyptian Trézéguet has departed the club heading to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor for an undisclosed fee while goalkeeper Lovre Kalinić has returned to Croatia, linking up with HNK Hajduk Split.
