Optus Stadium will host seven Perth Scorchers Big Bash League matches across the 2021/22 summer of cricket, including a Boxing Day blockbuster.

Western Australian cricket fans will get the chance to celebrate the start of the BBL 11 season with back-to-back home matches at Optus Stadium.

The Scorchers begin their season against the Brisbane Heat on Wednesday, 8 December before facing the Adelaide Strikers three days later on Saturday, 11 December.

The Hobart Hurricanes come to Perth on Monday, 20 December before the Melbourne Renegades and the Scorchers light up Boxing Day on Sunday, 26 December with a prime-time blockbuster.

It will be third time Optus Stadium has hosted a BBL Boxing Day match following the BBL/WBBL Double Header in 2018 and the Scorchers clash with the Sixers in 2019.

The Scorchers take on the Melbourne Stars on Thursday, 30 December to round out the 2021 cricket calendar at Optus Stadium.

Cricket at Optus Stadium in 2022 begins with a visit from the Sydney Thunder on Wednesday, 5 January before a Grand Final rematch with reigning Champions the Sydney Sixers the next day, Thursday, 6 January.

Two Scorchers matches in two days will have WA Cricket lovers fired up with The Men’s Ashes fifth Test taking place at Optus Stadium eight days later.

Perth Scorchers had an outstanding BBL 10 season winning all five of their matches at Optus Stadium and finishing runners up.
